Blog Commenting To Increase Backlinks – Is It Dead?

Unfortunately, due to poor blogging guidelines, automated blog commenting software, and leaving the wrong comments, leaving comments on the wrong blogs to get buy dofollow backlinks on blogs is quickly becoming a dead practice.

However, if you know how to leave the right comments on the right blogs, you can benefit from leaving comments on other people’s blogs. Let’s talk about the above three points in more detail and also how you can add backlinks to your blog through comments.

Let’s start with something I recently found on another blog

(Name withheld to avoid confusion) while researching this article: “Blog comments are a great way to get backlinks to my site, I even sell them.”

Okay, this is what I’m talking about when it comes to bad blogging advice. The sad thing about this is that people buy this crap and spend a lot of money on backlinks to bad blogs.

This really annoys me!

Buying backlinks is NOT a way to increase the number of links on your blog. Why spend money to have someone else run pre-made comments through some automated software and spray them like a gun all over the world god knows where? Why not just get in the car, go 60 mph on the freeway, then roll the window down and out the window for the same money! This is basically what you do when you buy backlinks this way.

“I use automated blog commenting software on my desktop and post my own comments to hundreds of blogs. What’s wrong with that? This brings us to the second point where we use automated blog commenting software to add backlinks to your blog. And here is my answer… It doesn’t matter if you do it yourself with your desktop software or pay someone else to do it, the results are the same!

“Good post. Keep it up!” no comment!

Since none of these “comments” have anything to do with the information in the article or what you as the reader actually got out of it (nothing measurable) – they also didn’t point to the author to show that it was in fact the author. Comment. This brings us to #3

“Well, James, that’s all good. But I have to leave a lot of comments on a lot of blogs to get enough backlinks to make an impact.”

Let me ask a question…

If you have a blog aimed at, for example, golfers. Why do you want to leave a comment on someone else’s blog for scrap? Unless they were chips, memorabilia, etc. specifically for playing golf. You wouldn’t do that, would you? Of course not! Why? Because there is no relationship between the two markets.

Another blog owner won’t accept your comment if he doesn’t know what he’s doing. And even if they do, what is the quality of this connection? What is the value of the traffic it sends to your blog?

If you post a lot of comments on a lot of blogs just trying to get links back to your site and only a few get accepted and the ones that do are from bad sites…

What have you achieved?

How about taking the time to find good blogs with good content that complement your own blog? And you read their article and left a very good comment about it. What are your chances of getting this comment approved? I’d say your chances are pretty good!

Okay, so what if you only did this for 30 minutes a day, 4-5 days a week (a total of 2-2.5 hours a week, that’s all!) What would happen to your blog commenting efforts right now? I’d say your efforts to increase reverse comments on your blog are looking pretty good after a month. Is not it?

I hope your mental wheels are turning very fast right now because if I can help just one blogger who in turn helps another blogger avoid wasting time, money and effort on the wrong comments on the wrong blog site. For more information visit our website
